DAR is passionate about educating America's youth, funding scholarships, essay contests, and youth programs nationwide. The Society also runs DAR Schools and provides free resources for teachers covering the Revolutionary War, genealogy, and early American history.

Historic Preservation has been one of the main focuses of the DAR's mission since the organization's founding. Members take on a wide variety of preservation projects, from restoring cultural sites to maintaining a national database of historic homes and properties.

For over a century, the DAR has carried the torch of patriotism — love of country was the founding purpose that connected women to honor heritage and work toward a bright future for their children. Locally, that shows up as support for veterans and active-duty military, Constitution Week programming, and welcoming newly naturalized citizens.
